About me

I am a high school physical education teacher with a deep passion for fitness, lifelong learning, and student development. Before becoming an educator, I proudly served 21 years in the United States military, with assignments across Spain, Guam, Florida, and San Diego. That experience instilled in me discipline, resilience, and the belief that teamwork and physical readiness are essential to success in every aspect of life.

I hold a degree in Health and Physical Education from the University of Central Oklahoma, and I align my teaching with both SHAPE America’s national guidance and the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Physical Education. I believe every student deserves the chance to explore new skills and challenges, and that doing difficult things safely builds courage, awareness, and competence. In my PE classroom, our goals are to build each other up, have fun, and grow both body and brain.

To me, physical education is far more than games or sports—it is a key place where students develop physical literacy, responsibility, social skills, and a lifelong sense of well-being. Guided by the SHAPE America National Standards, I emphasize not only skill development and fitness, but also teamwork, safety, and enjoyment. My approach helps students grow in movement and fitness while also fostering confidence, respect, and joy.

Beyond the school day, I am a strong advocate for after-school sports and clubs, believing they provide powerful opportunities for students to build character, confidence, and community.

Outside of school, I am married and the proud father of a young daughter. I look forward to being actively involved in her education and sports as she grows, just as I encourage my students to pursue healthy, active lifestyles that will benefit them well beyond graduation
